How to Replace the Fingerprint Sensor of an Asus Smartphone
To avoid paying a professional for labor, our team provides details on how to change your fingerprint sensor yourself.- Turn off your phone before starting any operation and take your SIM card extraction tool, a small flathead screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver:
- Insert the SIM card extraction tool into its tray and then remove the complete tray.
- To remove the back cover of your phone, fully heat it with a hairdryer for about 2 minutes.
- Then insert the flathead screwdriver into the space between the back panel and the rest of the phone, starting from the bottom and gently working your way around the phone.
- Next, grip the back panel and remove it.
- Unscrew all the screws from the frame.
- Use the flathead screwdriver to disconnect the interconnection cable and the fingerprint sensor connector (two small clips around the camera).
- Then gently pry to unclip the right side of the frame, located to the right of the camera.
- Unclip the top part of the inner frame next and remove it.
- Carefully remove the fingerprint sensor using the flathead screwdriver.
- Replace it with the new one.
- Repeat the steps in reverse to reassemble your smartphone.
